Martin Blanchet was born in St. Emile de Suffolk in 1972.

Blanchet originally studied graphic arts at the Algonquin College in Ottawa, but soon realized his love and talent for landscape painting. Blanchet is a true nature lover, and is never without a small notebook in which he continually sketches his surroundings. Martin Blanchet is a self-taught painter who has worked extensively with Louis Boeckhout and Louis Robichaud and draws his inspiration from works of the Group of Seven as well as Suzor-Cote.
