Born in Montreal, Quebec, Jerome studied with Stanley Cosgrove at l’Ecole des Beaux – Arts, Montreal (1945-52); and in France, Italy, Switzerland and Austria (1956-58). His early work was influenced by Mondrian, Kandinsky and the Cubists. Working in oil, acrylic, charcoal and pastel, he painted images of heads, still life…

His early work was influenced by Mondrian, Kandinsky and the Cubists. Working in oil, acrylic, charcoal and pastel, he painted images of heads, still life and non-representational works. He was a member of Les Plasticiens and signed their manifesto in 1955. He taught at l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Montreal (1958).
