Based in Calgary, Marcia Harris (b. 1974, Gaspé, QC) is an artist whose practice examines the intersection of urban architecture and shifting landscapes. Her early career was marked by a provincial award that led to a meeting with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II during Canada’s 125th anniversary.
Harris graduated with distinction from UBCO (BFA, 2004). Her work utilizes a mixed-media approach, layering acrylic, oil, and aerosol to explore the relationship between light and texture. Her paintings are held in several permanent collections, including the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the BMO Centre, and the Glenbow Museum.
