"Love You to Death" is the culmination, the altar, a personal memento mori. A mother stands with her children on a sunlit day as an explosion rips through the air before them. Yet the other works in the room, the palm trees, two women on floaties, remain placid as the world goes on. Only the mother carries its full weight—the moment one understands, beyond doubt, that everything they love is finite.

Built through hundreds of thousands of hand placed dots, first airbrushed and then finished one by one with a piping bag in black, not just in this image but across the entire body of work, the painting reflects a larger act of making, a world painstakingly constructed and reconstructed, where the labour of creation runs parallel to the weight of what has been realized.

As one walks back through the exhibition, a clarity emerges. Every image is built from only four colours: cyan, magenta, yellow, and key. What once felt overwhelming as a subject can be seen, dot by dot. The process comes into view. And with it, a broader understanding of the exhibition as a whole; a sustained act of devotion and a hard-won act of devotion for the self and the human experience.
