Masters Gallery is delighted to announce the publication of Canoe: A Collection of Canadian Art, celebrating the remarkable Grit and Scott McCreath Canoe Collection.
Featuring text on the works by Rod Green, an introduction by Anne Ewen, and a foreword by Scott McCreath, Canoe brings together 90 works spanning 200 years of Canadian art and explores one of the country’s most enduring cultural symbols.
The collection encompasses paintings, sculpture, prints, carvings, glass, ceramics and birch bark canoes by 50 historical and contemporary artists, including Alex Colville, David Milne, Cornelius Krieghoff, Frances Anne Hopkins, Ernest Lindner, Illingworth Kerr and Walter J. Phillips. Each work is beautifully reproduced in full colour and accompanied by commentary on the work and artist.
